MSED: Bird a Day #52 - Baby Hummingbirds

This summer I was blessed with a hummingbird nest in one of our trees. It is very rare to find one and I was very excited. I was able to watch the mamma decorate her nest with moss and spiderweb, keep her eggs warm and watch her babies grow. Even though this really isn't  "art" I decided it needed to be part of my bird a day. Theses are my own point and shoot photos.
Pretty mama on her beautiful nest.

Two perfect eggs, I got on a ladder for this one.
They were really ugly at this stage.

If you view this one up close you can see they are starting to get their iridescent green coloring.

Looking cute.

Growing up. They would sit perfectly still whenever I came around just like they were told to do.

This shot was taken the day before they left the nest. I didn't try to take any more photos after this because they looked like they wanted to  fly away and I didn't want them to leave too soon but they were ready.
It was so much fun to check on my little birds every day. It was amazing to see how fast they grew. What a treat.
