MSED: Bird a Day #67 - Marika's Phoenix

He turned out much more "sweet" looking than I intended. I guess this is the way he wanted to look. Try as I might to be a serious artist/person I guess I will always be a (girly) kid inside and it will reflect in my work.
A painting symbolizing my return to being creative, manifested as a fantasy bird

  1. So glad you keep making birds! He's so intricate! I really like the pink and black texture in between the green swirls on his neck. It's so funny what you said about being a serious artist vs girly - I struggle with the same thing!!! :)

  2. This is so beautiful! It must have taken awhile to do with all the little details. I really feel you on the serious vs girlie. I tend to gravitate towards darker images but anything I try and paint or draw always comes out cheerful and sunny!

  3. It's good to know I'm not the only one with "girlie syndrome"!

  4. (gasp) This is so Crazy wonderful Mary!!!!!! I love the happiness and childlike wonderment of it and all of your art. This is so fabulous Mary!!!

  5. Minnie, you are so sweet. Thank you.
