MSED: Bird a Day #36- Chocolate Fudge Soda
Something Old. This image was scanned from the book "Betty Crocker's Cook Book for Boys and Girls" Copyright 1957. Apparently you can still buy this book on Amazon for $11.53. I bought mine at a garage sale for $1. I love everything about this book from the cute retro illustrations and photos to the quasi racist recipe called Old Black Joe which is a bowl of Wheaties with a prune on top with bits of apple for the eyes, mouth, and ears. A banana and cherry make the hat. When I saw it I actually gasped. I guess 1957 was a long time ago.
