He turned out much more "sweet" looking than I intended. I guess this is the way he wanted to look. Try as I might to be a serious artist/person I guess I will always be a (girly) kid inside and it will reflect in my work.
A painting symbolizing my return to being creative, manifested as a fantasy bird watercolor and pen on watercolor paper. click to see it bigger. |
So glad you keep making birds! He's so intricate! I really like the pink and black texture in between the green swirls on his neck. It's so funny what you said about being a serious artist vs girly - I struggle with the same thing!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! It must have taken awhile to do with all the little details. I really feel you on the serious vs girlie. I tend to gravitate towards darker images but anything I try and paint or draw always comes out cheerful and sunny!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know I'm not the only one with "girlie syndrome"!
ReplyDelete(gasp) This is so Crazy wonderful Mary!!!!!! I love the happiness and childlike wonderment of it and all of your art. This is so fabulous Mary!!!
